FAQ
Frequently asked questions
General
What materials do we use?
We are able to use a wide variety of materials for prints.
The most frequent filament we use is PLA (Polylactic Acid) which is a bioplastic, mainly derived from corn, and is generally biodegradable.
We also use a variety of filaments that are more hardy when strength is key, or an item needs to be able to survive the elements without degrading.
These include (but are not limited to):
PETG
TPU
ASA
ABS
We can also print with carbon fibre and glass fibre infused filaments.
Are our prints safe?
TLDR: Yes
Any of our prints that have 'play value' will adhere to UKCA standards. This means that the filament has been sent to a lab for chemical testing to ensure safety, and that a number of physical tests have been run on the items to make sure they conform to the requirements for the EN71 standard.
Declarations of Conformity are available to view where wanted.
Do we create our own designs?
This one has a mixed answer. Wherever possible, we create our own designs using a wide variety of tools including CAD software. However there are time where something we want or need to print goes beyond our current design skills, or we just love the design someone else has done. On these occasions we work closely with other 3D designers and commission them to create designs, or appropriately licence designs.
